Lettuce powder contains all the nutrition of fresh lettuce, and is one of the easiest powders to make. If you live alone, you will probably have often ended up throwing half a lettuce away because it goes off before you can eat it. By making it into a powder you can preserve its benefits for adding to other dishes.
Uses For Lettuce Powder

- Sprinkle in to sauces
Making the Powder
You will need the following equipment:
- A pestle and mortar or a coffee grinder
Follow my directions for dehydrating lettuce. It should be crisp to the touch.
Grind the dried lettuce to a fine powder.
Transfer the powder to an airtight container. Use a soft paint brush to clear out all the powder residue.
Store in a cool dark place.
Tip:
I found these spice storage jars that work brilliantly for lettuce powder as they make it easy to sprinkle the powder but also seal well to keep the powder dry.
